Salut String Quartet

We are a retirement village in Auckland who holds regular concerts. In July 2025 we were treated to the exceptional talents of Salut String Quartet. Our audience thoroughly enjoyed their very professional and polished performance and I would highly recommend booking Salut, you won't be disappointed!

I'd like to write about the brilliant concert at Ferndale House. The programme had something for everyone. Ranging from "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" through to Borodin's enchanting Notturno. The cellist's theme was played tenderly and expressively with the other instruments creating a warm atmosphere. The ensemble was seamless and the melodies flowed between the musicians. I was captivated throughout the concert.

We were stunned at the virtuosity and musicianship of this string quartet in their performance at Ipress Cafe! They played Vivaldi's Four Seasons as well as any International top quartet. Then amazingly they switched modes and played a fun jazzy rendition of Gershwin's, Summertime and a superb arrangement of Crowded House's Four Seasons in One Day. A spectacular quartet, their playing is better than most of the other Auckland gig Quartets that I checked online!

We attended the July 2025 performance by Salut String Quartet at Ferndale Historical House, and it felt like discovering a hidden gem of musical brilliance. What made it even more special was that one of the performers teaches my daughter violin—and seeing her teacher shine on stage was an unforgettable moment for her. The music transformed from abstract lessons into something vibrant and thrilling. For a young learner, it was deeply inspiring. As a family, we felt privileged to experience such exceptional musicianship in an intimate, welcoming venue. A truly uplifting evening!
