Traction is a professional five piece covers band with a fresh and energetic approach to live entertainment . The band which formed in 2005 consists of Craig Russell on vocals, Craig Grant on guitar and vocals, Nathan Collings on guitar, Jarrod Bayly on bass and Steve Harvie on drums.

Traction's broad repertoire caters for a wide range of musical audiences. Whether your preference is popular music, rock, classics, top 40 or dance, Traction will have you entertained and provide the perfect live music experience.Playing songs from artist’s like Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, the Police, Foo Fighters, Dave Dobbyn, Van Morrision, the Beatles, Jamiroquai , Macthbox 20 and many many more, Traction are sure to play “that song” to get you on the dance floor.
Traction has established a name in the Auckland pub scene, with a monthly residency at The Reef Bar and have featured at The Cock and Bull, The Paddington, Ye Olde Bailey, The Highlander and O'Hagan's and The Prospect of Howick.

Traction are also experienced in providing entertainment for corporate Clients such as Robert Harris, Fuji Xerox, Daimler Chrysler to name just a few, and have also performed at many private weddings and functions.

Reef Bar- Mission Bay

I first hired Traction early January 08. After their 1st gig at REEF Bar, in Mission Bay, I was blown away. Great Vocals, Craig really worked the crowd (and it wasn’t an overly busy night, but the dance floor was rocking). The band were all polite and professional. REEF Bar is a live music party bar and I only book quality live bands such as Catch 22, Tall Poppies, VHF, Libido, and Speak Easy to name but a few. I have been involved with the bar and live music scene for many years and I am very impressed with TRACTION.
