| DESCRIPTION |
The Mira Lacey Band (Duo/Trio/Quartet) features Mira's exquisite voice backed by some of New Zealand's finest jazz musicians. Her sophisticated style is reminiscent of jazz divas Diana Krall and Julie London, yet she is a totally unique artist, with a wealth of experience, depth and passion in her performance. Mira's reputation as a talented jazz vocalist is steadily growing through festival performances including the Auckland Seafood Festival, Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival and the Pacific Rose Bowl Festival.
Mira received a Sarah Vaughn Jazzmaster's Incentive Award for study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where her talent was nurtured by many exceptional teachers and performers. She earned her Bachelor of Music Degree, with honours in Vocal Performance, in 1996.
Mira's ensemble showcases some of the best music of the 1920's, 30's, 40's and 50's including songs recorded by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Julie London, Blossom Dearie, June Christy, Carmen McRae, Astrud Gilberto and many other fine jazz vocalists. Songs by contemporary artists Norah Jones and Melody Gardot are also part of Mira's repertoire.
We specialize in providing exceptional background music for all occasions. We are also available to perform in Auckland.
