| DESCRIPTION |
The Nikau Quartet are a string quartet with a passion for playing great music. From classics by Bach to classy jazz, their versatility in setting a mood is sure to impress. Based in West Auckland, the string quartet offers a friendly and professional service.
Emily Allen -Vln 1
Emily Allen studied violin in NZ and the UK. While in the UK she gained a Masters in Performance and worked as a freelance violinist, before returning to NZ to work with the string quartet.
Coralie Usmani -Vln 2
Coralie graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance violin. She is currently doing postgraduate study in violin performance at Auckland University.
Celia Wood-Calvert -Vla
Celia (B.Mus., ATCL) studied violin in Auckland and Chicago. She is a West Auckland violin and piano teacher who works from her studio in Waiatarua. She has also studied music therapy and loves to work with children, outside of her work with the string quartet.
Robin Snape -Cello
Robin grew up in Auckland, studied at Otago and Auckland Universities, and pursued postgraduate study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she worked and taught as a freelance cellist.
