| DESCRIPTION |
| Darren Watson has been performing his original brand of blues and soul for over twenty five years. Originally with the very popular Chicago Smoke Shop and, since 1991, under his own name. In that time he has recorded and released several charting albums and been nominated six times at the NZ Music Awards, including a nomination for Best Roots Album at the 2003 Awards. He has been billed alongside Keb Mo, Robert Cray, George Thorogood, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Koko Taylor, Emmylou Harris, Eric Burdon, & Santana. He's performed with legendary Chicago harp-master Billy Boy Arnold, and toured extensively with Kiwi blues-man Midge Marsden. Watson has established a reputation second-to-none for good-time blues performed to a world class standard at every gig. In mid-2009 Darren won the blues section of the prestigious International Songwriting Competition in Nashville, USA. |
