If you dont’ recognize their faces you’ll recognize their voices from such bands as Goodshirt, Breaks Co-op and various television advertisements. They’re accomplished musicians who have worked alongside huge names such as Dave Dobbyn, Bic Runga, Hall & Oates and the Kings of Leon.

Inspired by the magic of a wind-up picnic-gramophone and a box of old records, the Gramophone Band performs vintage styled music that is highly listen-able and highly dance -able too.

They play the sweet dulcet tones and the toe
tapping hits of the 1920’s through to the 1950’s.
From Gypsy Jazz, Swing, Ragtime to Rock-a-
Billy, the members share a passion for the music
that their grandparents listened to.

However, vintage renditions of Kylie Minogue, Bowie or
Beyonce wouldn’t be at all out of place in an
evening with the Gramophone Band. It is fun,
animated music that appeals to both the young
and the old.

The Gramophone Band brings you a magical
evening of vintage music, wonderful nonsense
and beautiful tunes. They can perform either as a
trio or as a full party band.

"Recently The Gramophone Band performed for me at Taste of Auckland - They were fabulous in all respects!" Peter Urlich - 15 November 2013

"Thank you Gareth, Katie, Jonathan and Johnny for the spectacular performance last Saturday night for our Great Gatsby Ball at the Civic - you guys were a hit! You were a perfect fit for our theme, I would also be more than happy to work with you guys again for any other function. Vocals were beautiful and you guys looked great on stage - Many thanks." Ramona Vanderlee - Russell McVeagh - 6 June 2013

The Gramophone Band were absolutely brilliant. Gareth and the other musicians were totally helpful throughout - all of the guests were very complimentary about the music and everyone enjoyed dancing to their music. We will certainly recommend Gareth and his team to anyone of our friends who need music in the future. Bill Holmes - 15 February 2014

I just wanted to thank you and the band once again. I knew you would be great - but you were better than that - you were incredible! You were the highlight of the whole week long event and I can't thank you enough for not only being incredible entertainers but also one of the loveliest people I have had the pleasure of dealing with. Shelley Waghorn Event Management - 20 February 2016
