The Dedwoods are a collective of some of Auckland’s hottest young talent.  Their extensive songlist covers a range of genres from all-time classics such as Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder through to modern hit makers Justin Timberlake and Beyonce.  The band’s extraordinarily high standard of musicianship is consistent across all four musicians and together they are a musical force to be reckoned with.  The Dedwoods are ideal for events requiring a hot young band playing a mix of the greats and the hits of the moment.

About the Band

Vocalist Jessie Cassin is a professional singer/songwriter/actress who is currently working on a solo EP entitled ‘kin’.  Along with fronting The Dedwoods, Jessie also leads the ‘Blackbird Ensemble’, a unique contemporary/classical hybrid orchestra which is currently performing at Q Theatre, and will be performing at Silo Theatre throughout October.  Highly in demand as one of the country’s top contemporary vocalists, Jessie has worked with Lewis McCallum, Homebrew, Auckland Opera Chorus and has performed extensively on cruise ships throughout the world.

Tom Broome has quickly made a name for himself as Auckland’s most in-demand drummer, and is currently working with legendary NZ artists Hollie Smith, Anika Moa and Boh Runga.  Tom also plays for Homebrew and NZ band ‘The Means’.

Bassist Cass Basil is currently back from an overseas tour alongside NZ music icon Neill Finn, performing with NZ singer/songwriter Tiny Ruins. She also plays with Lisa Crawley.

Guitarist Abe Kunin performs with NZ band ‘Coach’, Homebrew and Silver Scroll winner ‘Lips’.

Reviews

"We were very pleased with the performance. We have a sophisticated demographic that frequents our property and The Dedwoods were able to provide a great mix of music which suited our environment and clientele. We would happily book them again." John Etheridge - Food and Beverage Manager, Hotel deBrett - 13 July 2013

The Dedwoods are fantastic, their song list on the night was spot on for our party and they had everyone up on the dance floor. The lead singer stood out especially, amazing vocals! We would definitely use them again, without a doubt. Stacey Friday - Sanofi (Corporate Event) - 13 December 2013
